The Virginia Department of Education “2018-2019 Parent Survey”

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has opened the “2018-2019 School Year Parent Survey” for parents of students with special needs.  The survey is a way for parents to report a school division's efforts to involve parents as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities. The survey format has been changed from a postcard to a “bubble sheet.” The bubble sheet comes with a pre-addressed postage paid envelope for easy return to VDOE.

In addition to the bubble sheet survey, families have the opportunity to complete an online survey.  The online survey is now open and is available for completion in English and Spanish at the following websites:

English Version ----- English Version of 2018-2019 Indicator 8 Parent Survey

Spanish Version ----- Spanish Version of 2018-2019 Indicator 8 Parent Survey

Families who have more than one child receiving special education services should complete the survey as it applies to each of their children with special needs.

The collection window for both the bubble sheet and online survey will remain open until January 31, 2020.   If you have questions or need assistance concerning this survey process, please contact Hank Millward at the Virginia Department of Education via email at Hank.Millward@doe.virginia.gov or via telephone at (804) 371-0525.

If you would like another bubble sheet survey, please contact Dr. Carla Alpern via email at alpernca@lcps.k12.va.us or via telephone at (540) 894-5115.  Thank you.
