Louisa Lions head coach Mark Fischer
For 12 seasons, Mark Fischer has been synonymous with Louisa County High School football. His time as coach will come to an end at this season's conclusion.

On Friday, October 13, the school moved to ensure Fischer's legacy doesn't end anytime soon.

The Louisa County School board voted unanimously Tuesday, October 17th on a resolution that dedicated the playing field at "The Jungle" as "Mark L. Fischer Field."

"Mark has had an impression on this community both on and off the field," LCPS School Board Chairman Greg Strickland said. "As a board, we felt he was more than deserving of this honor. We’re proud to do so."

Fischer has been the programs most successful head coach in history. Fischer is a five-time Jefferson District Coach of the Year. He also led Louisa to the 2006 VHSL state title game. That same year, Fischer was voted the Virginia Coach of the Year by the Associated Press.
