Superheroes and Action Verbs

Thomas Jefferson Elementary School first-graders recently became superheroes to learn more about action verbs!

As part of the lesson, students read through a superhero story, and separated the nouns from the verbs.

Students also were challenged to point out action verbs that were posted around their classroom!

To bring verbs to life, students acted out action verbs like “run,” “dance,” and “stretch.”

LCPS Superintendent Straley got in on the action, too! He broke out his own superhero costume and read a superhero-themed book to the students!

Afterwards, students were able to use their creativity to develop their own superhero profile.

The day ended with official superhero photos! Great job, Patriots!
