AHA Fundraising

During the first few months of 2018, LCPS helped raise money for the American Heart Association, and the results are in!

LCPS students raised money by hosting their own fundraisers and by pledging to build heart healthy habits.

AHA representative Marjorie Churchbourne visited LCPS today to donate basketballs, dodgeballs, and other gym equipment, as well as to announce the grand total!

LCPS’ previous AHA fundraising record was $24,000. But this year, LCPS raised more than $32,000!!

“[Louisa County Public Schools] has so much to be proud of and I am so grateful to each and every one of you for your support of our mission,” Marjorie ChurchBourne, American Heart Association’s Youth Market Director said. “ Thank you from the bottom of my heart to yours!”

The American Heart Association uses the money to help doctors and scientist come up with treatments and medicine to fight heart disease and strokes.

It’s treatment that helps people like Finn, who needed multiple surgeries after being born with a congenital heart defect. Now, he visits LCPS for AHA pep rallies!

Great job, #TeamLCPS!
