New Artwork Up at LCMS/LCHS

Thanks to the hard work of LCPS students, incredible pieces of art known as “Mobiles” are now on display at Louisa County Middle School and Louisa County High School!

In mid-March, LCPS hosted Kevin Reese, a renowned artist-in-residence who works with schools and communities nationwide to create mobiles. Mobiles are artistic structures that consist of rods and decorative objects, carefully arranged together in perfect balance.

Over the course of a week, students sanded and designed their own unique creations, which were joined together to create each school’s mobile. To bring a mobile to life, students have to be creative and work collaboratively. Reese also incorporates science and math into the creative process!

When finished, the high-flying works of art gracefully rotate thanks to the principle of equilibrium.

Reese was given a #TeamLCPS MVP Award for his efforts, and the mobiles will hang at LCMS and LCHS for years to come!

Great job to our artistic Bobcats and Lions!
