Learning at Lake Anna

Learning at Lake Anna
Posted on 10/25/2023

Recently, LCHS Biology students were able to get hands-on experience while completing their classwork.

First, students helped plant trees at a nearby farm to learn about riparian buffers, a concept that involves planting vegetation along streams to protect water quality and prevent against erosion.

Then, students headed to Lake Anna State Park to participate in a biology-themed scavenger hunt!

As part of the scavenger hunt, students used their phones to photograph and identify local bugs, plants, and other wildlife.

Students also conducted water quality tests to help round out their day.

LCPS would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Lake Anna Civic Association, Friends of the Rappahannock, and Katie & Chris Myer for helping make this amazing learning experience possible!
