Posted on 04/24/2024

**THIS MESSAGE WAS ORIGINALLY COMMUNICATED TO LCPS FAMILIES ON MONDAY, APRIL 22**

Greetings TeamLCPS Families!

First and foremost, I want to say THANK YOU for your continued support this school year! It’s hard to believe, but we are now about one month away from the last day of school! As we head into the home stretch, I cannot express how proud I am of our students, staff, and community. We have committed to each other, persevered, and worked as a TEAM to make this school year both a successful and memorable one. I am so proud of this community and it certainly is true that Louisa LEADS!

I am writing to you today to inform you that – just as in years past –  our last day of school on Thursday, May 23rd will be an early release day.  On Thursday, May 23rd, students will be dismissed at 11 a.m.

May 23rd will mark the end of an exciting chapter here at Louisa County Public Schools, one filled with great memories and tremendous accomplishments. But it’s important to remember that there are memories still to be made over the next month.  So, as we head into this final month of school, let’s finish strong. Let’s focus on doing our best and cheering each other on every step of the way.

Once again, THANK YOU so much for your support of our school division, and I look forward to seeing many of you around our schools during these final days of the school year. Our success is your success, and I’m honored to be on this Journey to Greatness with you!

Let’s make this last month the best month yet!

Have a fantastic day!

Sincerely,

J. Douglas Straley II

Division Superintendent
