We have a LOT of big things happening with our Career and Technical Education program at Louisa County Public Schools! Check out these recent accomplishments!

First up, Louisa County High School CTE was one of just 16 programs in the entire Commonwealth to be awarded a Competitive Innovative Program Equipment Grant by the Virginia Department of Education. As part of the program, Louisa County High School will be awarded $37,500, which will be used to build a solar and wind energy site on campus! LCHS students will build and install energy structures, turbines, and panels on-site, and they’ll also collaborate with leaders in the energy field on projects around campus.

Also, Louisa County High School earned second place in the National STEM Challenge, hosted by the Center for Energy Workforce Development. LCHS CTE earned second place for its Wireless on Wheels (WOW) program, which is providing wireless, high-speed internet via solar-powered, mobile stations that are located throughout the county! Our WOW units have been a big hit, and we’re so proud of our students for building them from the ground up.

A lot of accomplishments to be proud of here, #TeamLCPS. We may be a small-town school division, but we’re showing the country how it’s done here in LC! #LouisaLEADS
