Thanks to an incredible effort by the #TeamLCPS community, Louisa County Public Schools had its most success Stuff The Bus school supply drive ever!

From 9 a.m. on August 2nd to 5 p.m. on August 3rd, Louisa County Public Schools collected 68 boxes worth of school supplies! The mark bested the previous record by 16 boxes!

“Our school division cannot say thank you enough to those who generously donated supplies for Stuff The Bus,” said Louisa County Public Schools Public Information Officer Andrew Woolfolk, who organized the event. “We had so many great volunteers, and when you see the level of generosity that some people have, it makes you feel a lot better about the world around you!”

Stuff The Bus is held each year for two days outside of Walmart in Zion Crossroads. During the event, #TeamLCPS groups sign up to stand outside of the store to both greet customers and to encourage them to donate. This year, twenty groups signed up to participate!

“These groups are made up of students, teachers, parents, coaches, and others who are kind enough to volunteer their time to make our school division a better place,” Louisa County Public Schools Superintendent Doug Straley said. “Great job to all involved!”

The collected supplies have been delivered to all six schools and are available to any family that needs assistance.
