Instruction is the core of what we do at Louisa County Public Schools. The curriculum and plan for every class is carefully considered and adjusted each year to maximize student achievement. Our centralized instructional team directs, guides, and supports the learning that occurs in every classroom every day.

Dr. Amanda Hester serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction, overseeing all division instructional activities and initiatives related to every aspect of student learning. She also directs our Talented and Gifted program.

Tom Smith oversees instruction at Louisa County Middle School and Louisa County High School as Director of Secondary Instruction and heads Assessment and Accountability.

Justin Grigg is the Director of Elementary Education and federally-based instructional efforts, including Title 1.

Dr. Carla Alpern, Director of Pupil Personnel Services, leads a team of specialists focused on providing quality education for those identified as in need of specialized education services. For more on her department, click here.
